Registering as an optometrist with independent glaucoma prescribing rights
To practise as an optometrist in Aotearoa New Zealand you must be registered with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board of New Zealand (ODOB).
Optometrists can apply for a 'independent glaucoma prescribing' endorsement on their scope. This means they will become independent glaucoma prescribers (IGPs) and will be required to meet annual recertification requirements.
